You're not alone! But fear not, I'm here to sprinkle some humor and wisdom on this anxiety-inducing process.
When is the best time to book a flight?
First off, when's the best time to book? Well, that's like asking when's the best time to eat pizza—there's never a bad time! But, statistically speaking, booking about 6-8 weeks before your flight tends to snag you the best deals.
Now, what about the best days to book? Some say Tuesdays, others swear by the weekends. Frankly, I think any day that ends in 'y' is fair game!
And the big question: should you use incognito mode? Well, Incognito mode won't magically make flights cheaper, but hey, it can't hurt to try if you're feeling sneaky!
To ease your nerves, here are some tips: Once you've booked your flight to your destination of choice, set up a Google Flight alert for the exact same flight. If the price drops, you can cancel and rebook for the better fare. You might not get a refund, but you'll get a credit for the difference, so it's a win-win!

Reward credit cards can be your best friend in these cases
The Capital One Venture X, for example, has a nifty price prediction tool that recommends the best time to book. Plus, you can set up a price alert with them. They'll send you an email when the timing is right. Just remember, these are predictions, not prophecies!
Capital One also offers flight price drop protection. If your flight's price drops within the last 10 days, you can get a credit of up to $50 in the form of an airline travel credit. They also have a Freeze Price option for a $9 fee, so you can lock in a price if you're worried about it going up.
I know what you're thinking, "But you said not to book in the travel portal!"
Well, sometimes it just makes sense. Capital One Venture X gives you a $300 travel credit each year, which would be foolish not to take advantage of. And there are plenty of times when a repositioning flight will be inexpensive enough to justify not using your precious miles. In those cases, I most definitely will use the portal to earn 5X points.
So, next time you're stressing about booking a flight,
take a deep breath, relax, and remember, everything's gonna be alright. And if all else fails, just imagine yourself sipping a cocktail on a beach somewhere—you'll get there, one way or another!
